Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park on a hill on St. Kitts is home to one of the best-preserved 17th and 18th century fortifications in the Americas. The fortress, designed by the British and built by African slave labor, is an example of colonial expansion and African slave trade in the Caribbean. Brimstone Hill Fortress is virtually a man-made outgrowth of the natural hill.
